Walk-in shower
One panel, open entry.
A shower behind a single fixed glass panel, with an open end to walk through and no door. It looks clean, is easy to keep clean and works best with a little length to spare.

What it is
A fixed glass panel, usually braced to the wall or ceiling with a bar, on a long shower tray or a tiled floor. You walk in around the end of the glass.
Good for
No door
Nothing to open, close or clean around.
Open feel
One sheet of glass keeps the room light.
Easy access
On a low-profile tray or level floor, there's little to step over.
What to weigh up
Splashes
The open end can let water out; a longer shower contains it better.
Warmth
Warm air escapes, so it can feel cooler than an enclosure.
Getting it right
Aim the water
Point the shower head away from the opening.
Level access, with the floor tiles running straight in.
Behind reeded glass in a calm Japandi room.
One glass panel against deep green tiles.
The layout
An open walk-in shower
A shower behind a fixed glass panel, without a shower door.
One fixed glass panel and an open entry. Fits from a compact room.
The right head
A rainfall head needs good pressure and plenty of hot water.
