Bath or shower?
Choosing your type.
Most bathrooms are one of four types: bath only, a shower over the bath, shower only, or a bath and a separate shower. The right one depends on how you live, who uses the room and how much space you have.

Questions to ask yourself
Who uses the bathroom?
Young children usually mean a bath. Busy mornings with several adults favour a good shower.
How often does anyone bathe?
If the bath gets used once a year, the space might be better spent on a bigger shower.
Is it the only bathroom?
In a family home, many people like to keep at least one bath, and some buyers expect one.
Thinking ahead?
A level-access shower is easier to use at any age. See accessibility and safety.
How big is the room?
Size decides which types fit. Start with room sizes, from very compact to large.
Every room is different. These are starting points, and we confirm what fits at your home visit.
