What it is
A square grate and trap set into the floor, with the surrounding floor shaped to fall towards it.
Good for
Even drainage
Water runs to the middle from every direction.
Familiar
A simple, traditional wet room drain.
What to weigh up
Tiling
Falls on four sides mean more tile cuts; smaller tiles work best.
Underfoot
The fall can be felt more than with a linear drain.
